Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The executive secretary of the Cuanza Norte Provincial Youth Council (CPJ), Gaspar Faustino Domingos, encouraged this Friday, in Ndalatando, the adherence of self-employed young people and street vendors to the compulsory social protection system, through enrollment in social security.<\/b><\/p>\n

The youth leader clarified that CPJ is concerned about the future of self-employed youth, entrepreneurs, and producers who contribute to economic growth and are not affiliated with the National Institute of Social Security (INSS).<\/p>\n

Gaspar Domingos made such an appeal when he spoke at the seminar on “Reflection on the legal regime for registration, contribution and coercive collection of debts of compulsory social protection”, aimed at young people from various social strata of the province.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the benefits of young people being enrolled in the social security system.<\/p>\n

Among the benefits, he highlighted the guarantee of retirement after long years of work or due to old age and the survivor’s pension for the insured person’s family members.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the opening of the seminar, the Deputy Governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector of Cuanza Norte, Luzia da Silva Bartolomeu Jose\u0301, urged the INSS and the CPJ to reinforce the work of raising youth awareness on the importance of contributing to the social Security.<\/p>\n

He stated that it is necessary to relax the narrative that only former civil servants or former employees of large companies can benefit from social security.<\/p>\n

“We need to continue mentally preparing young people to ensure the payment of fees and taxes to ensure that the state makes the necessary investments, as a result of the return on revenue collection”, he stressed.<\/p>\n

He also defended the strengthening of mechanisms that guarantee the insertion of young people in income-generating activities, creating in them, at the same time, habits of formalizing these activities and complying with contributory obligations.<\/p>\n

He recalled that, due to the explosion of young people embarking on small businesses, the Executive is carrying out the Informal Economy Reconversion Program (PREI), to allow young people to formalize small income-generating activities.<\/p>\n

The training action, which was attended by more than 100 young people, was aimed at providing participants with knowledge about the Legal System of Compulsory Social Protection for Employees and Low Income Generating Economic Activities.<\/p>\n

The participants were also informed about the enforced collection process for compulsory social protection debts.<\/p>\n

The seminar is a joint initiative of the INSS and CPJ, as part of the activities of the Angolan youth month, celebrated last April.<\/p>\n
