Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, this Friday appealed to Angolans to continue to promote peace at home, on the road and in any social environment.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Angolan statesman expressed this vote on his Facebook account in reference to the International Firefighters Day, celebrated Thursday, the 4th.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday, Friday, the beginning of another weekend, I call on each one of us to continue to be promoters of peace at home, on the road and in any social environment\u201d, he expressed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy word of appreciation goes to firefighters around the world, especially those in my country, on the occasion of their (international) day that was celebrated yesterday\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay they continue with the work of saving lives in trouble\u201d, concludes the Angolan statesman.<\/p>\n

International Firefighters’ Day was established in 1999 following the receipt of numerous messages from around the world on 4 May following the deaths of five firefighters in tragic circumstances in a wildfire in Australia in 1998.<\/p>\n
