Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Culture, Tourism and Environment (MCTA) appealed, Friday (18), in Luanda for a better approach to the problem of waste treatment, particularly the plastic that abounds in the sea, which can be transformed into fuel.<\/b><\/p>\n

Filipe Zau made this appeal, on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Seminar on Solid Waste Management and Treatment Projects, which aimed to provide a broad reflection on the importance of the use of different types of waste in the diversification, consolidation of the national economy and its reflection on the environment and society.<\/p>\n

Filipe Zau pointed out that one of the solutions to the problem has to do with the transformation of plastic into fuel, a reality already experienced in other parts of the world.<\/p>\n

He underlined that, by transforming plastic into fuel, the country would be giving a big boost to national tourism, through bio-fuels.<\/p>\n

“Tourism can be done in the sun (sea) and in conservation parks, which are also another form of income, where we can get foreign exchange and resources to continue to develop tourism along the vast coastline that we have”, he said. For the official ,<\/p>\n

the holding of this seminar also has the main idea of \u200b\u200bgathering consensus, listening to specialists from the MCTA and others directly or indirectly linked to environmental issues.<\/p>\n

The minister stressed that the recent visit to the province of Namibe , in great abundance, plastics are scattered, particularly on beaches, which represents a threat to marine biodiversity and can create serious problems for fish in the area.<\/p>\n

Filipe Zau said that the Provincial Government of Namibe is carrying out an awareness campaign, called “Zero Plastic”, which aims to reduce the use of this element. the “Circular economy and the green transition in the context of the country’s development” and the “Waste process and water desalination in the context of the green transition of the circular economy”.<\/p>\n
