Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial delegate of the General Inspection of State Administration (IGAE) in Cunene, Moise\u0301s Sovi, this Saturday, in the municipality of Namacunde, encouraged the population to have the culture of denouncing corrupt practices.<\/b><\/p>\n

The incentive was given on the sidelines of the Consultation meeting on the Proposed National Strategy for the Prevention and Repression of Corruption (ENAPREC), in the community of the municipality of Namacunde.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Moise\u0301s Sovi asked everyone to be involved in actions to combat corruption in order to facilitate the process of denouncing illegal acts committed by public servants.<\/p>\n

He also suggested that matters related to corruption be transmitted to students from primary to secondary education, in order to reinforce their awareness of transparency in the management of the treasury.<\/p>\n

The sub-prosecutor general of the Republic of Cunene, Ame\u0301rico Cassoma, said that they are following up on the project for Listening to the Proposal for National Strategies for the Prevention and Repression of Corruption, launched on 24 April last.<\/p>\n

He made it known that the Technical Group was created involving the PGR, the General Inspection of State Administration (IGAE) and the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, engaged in seeking contributions from the population on the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n

He informed that of the three bodies, it will be up to the Justice during the consultation, to make a general framework on the state of corruption in Angola, the IGAE to talk about the axes of prevention and detention and the reprimand on the responsibility of the prosecution.<\/p>\n

Ame\u0301rico Cassoma recalled that corruption affects the social fabric, hence the need to adopt procedural, investigative mechanisms and the active cooperation of all members of society, to put an end to this phenomenon.<\/p>\n

The provincial delegate for Justice and Human Rights in Cunene, Aldovino Mwaefelua, said that ENAPREC was created to promote integrity and transparency in the management of the treasury and the improvement of public service provision in the various sectors.<\/p>\n

On her turn, the municipal administrator of Namacunde, Cristiana Nameomunu, recognized the measures that the Angolan Executive has been taking in favor of combating corrupt practices in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fight against corruption and impunity is a bet of the holder of the Executive Power, with the promotion of measures that raise national awareness about the effects of this transversal problem that delays development\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

He considered it essential that knowledge about corruption prevention be more comprehensive for public managers and civil society, in the sense of being uniform in compliance with the law.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis consultation is an initiative that aims to provide public managers and economic agents with appropriate information to contribute to denouncing actions that translate into harmful behavior in the management of public affairs.<\/p>\n

Cristiana Nameomunu said that it was aimed at collecting suggestions from citizens, in order to contribute to the reduction of corruption rates, through the promotion of integrity, transparency and improvement of services in the public and private sectors.<\/p>\n

The ENAPREC project was prepared by the Technical Group, created by Presidential Order number 176\/19, of 21 October, in charge of carrying out studies and preparing proposals and mechanisms for the implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption.<\/p>\n

PGR in Cunene recorded, in the period from April 2002 to March of this year, five thousand 222 different criminal cases, 35 of which of an economic and financial nature involving public managers, employees of the local State administration, public and private companies.<\/p>\n
