Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Ombudsman, Florbela Arau\u0301jo, participates in the annual meeting of the International Institute of Ombudsmen (IOI), taking place from May 8 to 11 of this year, with the aim of discussing ways to strengthen the organization .<\/p>\n

According to a note from the institution today, the Angolan Ombudsman, who is participating in the event as director of the IOI for the Africa region, has been in the Austrian capital (Vienna), since Sunday (07).<\/p>\n

Upon her arrival, Florbela Arau\u0301jo held meetings with her counterparts from Portugal, Zambia, Belgium and the first Vice President of the IOI, Diane Welborn, from the United States of America.<\/p>\n

The Board of Directors meeting will review, among other matters, reports from IOI President Chris Field, issues relating to membership applications for new members, analysis of the cash flow map and budget, regional grants for the 2023 period \/2024 and other reports on recent training initiatives 2022\/2023.<\/p>\n

The meeting will address various issues related to the life of the organization, in the various sessions, among which, the Executive Committee, the UN Working Group, the Statutory Reform Commission and aspects with the directorates of the Board of Directors of the IOI.<\/p>\n

The revision of the official languages \u200b\u200bof the IOI and documents on good practices in the regions, as well as the status of permanent observer in the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization will also be analyzed at the meeting.<\/p>\n

The International Institute of Ombudsmen (IOI) is the largest International Organization that brings together Ombudsmen around the world, being divided into 6 (six) regions, namely: Africa, Asia, North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe and Australia and the Pacific.<\/p>\n
