Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Fazenda da Esperanc\u0327a, which belongs to the Catholic Mission of Vavayela, dedicated to the recovery of people addicted to alcohol and other drugs, located in the municipality of Cachiungo, in the province of Huambo, increased this Sunday, its hospitalization capacity to 133 against the previous 108 seats.<\/b><\/p>\n

Founded in 2011, the institution assists people with this problem from all over the country. So far, it has recovered close to 500 people, mainly young people of both sexes.<\/p>\n

This Sunday, a new residence was inaugurated with 25 places for internment, called \u201cDom Jose\u0301 de Queiroz Alves\u201d, then Archbishop of Huambo, between 2004 and 2018<\/p>\n

. fully recovered from alcoholism and other drugs, whose treatment lasted 12 months.<\/p>\n

Another 104 young people are still undergoing treatment, of which twenty-two are women aged between 14 and 60 years old, confined in the women’s wing of the farm that is 12 kilometers away from the institution’s headquarters where the boys live.<\/p>\n

The head of Fazenda da Esperanc\u0327a in the African region, which also covers countries such as South Africa, Cape Verde, Kenya and Mozambique, Joa\u0303o Paulo Farias, said that the event served to commemorate the 40th anniversary of institution, which (May 7) marks.<\/p>\n

The only one in the country, Fazenda da Esperanc\u0327a, has been operating in Huambo for only 12 years, having already created nuclei in 13 provinces, not counting Cunene, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Ui\u0301ge and Zaire.<\/p>\n

According to Joa\u0303o Paulo Farias, since the beginning of activities, the institution has grown day after day, however, regretting the degradation of the section of approximately 14 kilometers that connects the town of Vavayela with the seat of the municipality of Cachiungo.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe current state of the road, which is completely degraded, has greatly discouraged other families who intend to enroll their relatives who face drug problems\u201d. Afere<\/p>\n

In the homily of the mass, held in the same place, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Huambo, Dom Zeferino Zeca Martins, valued the work of this institution, which has been restoring hope to a new life to hundreds of young people across the country.<\/p>\n

Finally, the prelate appealed to the need to build solid families full of virtues capable of contributing to the spiritual recovery of children so that they walk with the dignity of the human person.<\/p>\n

Participating in the event were members linked to the Esperanc\u0327a de Vida Group (GEV) assigned to the centers of the provinces whose farm is represented and guests.<\/p>\n
