Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Residents and drivers of the fishing district of Buraco, in Mussulo commune, Talatona municipality, in Luanda, request the rehabilitation of the road, on national road 100, which has deteriorated again due to the rains registered in recent days.<\/b><\/p>\n

The village of Buraco is the only sector of the commune of Mussulo that connects, by land, to the other side of Luanda, in a journey of about 20 kilometres, that is, until it reaches the proximities of the urban district of Ramiros.<\/p>\n

The said road was leveled in December 2022 by a private contractor.<\/p>\n

The section is used daily by dozens of fishermen, whose catch is distributed in the most varied shopping centers in Luanda, as well as in other stops outside this area.<\/p>\n

Noe\u0301 Francisco, resident in the neighborhood of Buraco, told that the sharp degradation of the road is having a negative impact on the increase in taxi prices, having gone from 700 to 1,000 kwanzas on the route from the neighborhood to the EN-100\/South in Ramiros and vice versa .<\/p>\n

While the price of taxis goes up, the opposite happens with seafood, which registers a sharp drop due to the reduction of buyers.<\/p>\n

For taxi driver Pedro Sebastia\u0303o, the reduction in the number of taxis is due to the poor condition of the roads that have deteriorated as a result of the rains.<\/p>\n

Sociologist Abel Chico, on the other hand, considers the situation as \u201cunbearable\u201d, since it will reflect on the lives of inhabitants and consumers of fish.<\/p>\n

The solution to this problem, according to Abel Chico, involves the urgent rehabilitation of the roads, advocating the creation of a Technical Study Office to assess the execution of the works in due time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe cannot wait for the worst to happen and then repair it\u201d, he analyzed, reiterating the creation of the said Office for the presentation of technical and scientific solutions.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that due to the poor road surface, the taxi vehicles that provide services in the region are not characterized by old models such as five-seater toyotas of the \u201cCat’s Eyes\u201d, \u201cRabo de Pato\u201d, \u201cCarina-E\u201d and \u201c Starlet\u201d, since the conventional ones (blue and white) avoid the region due to the degradation of the roads.<\/p>\n
