Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Four hundred and 50 million kwanzas is the amount that public and private companies owe to the provincial services of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) in Lunda Sul.<\/b><\/p>\n

In statements this Wednesday, the head of that institution in the region, Francisco Ngueve, made it known that the referred debt is part of the more than 100 public and private companies already investigated.<\/p>\n

The official added that many companies do not have the culture of paying their workers’ social security monthly, some do, but in an interpolated way, with private institutions being the most indebted, with a figure of 90 percent of those targeted.<\/p>\n

He explained that, in order to revert the situation, the institution started, in March, several actions to raise awareness of debtor companies for the due payment.<\/p>\n

This month, he pointed out that companies are being notified so that they can respond within 30 days.<\/p>\n

He made it known that of the more than 100 companies, so far, 17 have already been notified, with the municipality of Saurimo leading the list.<\/p>\n

He added that after receiving the notification the company has three options, the first being to assume the debt and pay in full, the second to accept and request an installment payment agreement and the last may not agree with it.<\/p>\n

For this last option, the person in charge made it known that the INSS, in order to recover the values, called the Public Prosecutor’s Office to give due treatment.<\/p>\n

He also revealed that currently 54 companies are in the inspection process to assess the debt and subsequently take other steps.<\/p>\n

The provincial services of the National Social Security Institute (INSS) in Lunda Sul control 1,826 public and private companies, with a total of 39,050 workers.<\/p>\n
