Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Carmen Sacramento Neto, said this Wednesday, in Cabinda, that it is the sector’s responsibility to bring fish to the population’s table, through sustainable projects in the country’s fishing activity.<\/b><\/p>\n

In this context, he pointed out that the sector should focus, in a particular way, on issues that cause constraints, whether for sustainable production at sea or fishing in rivers.<\/p>\n

Carmen Neto, who was speaking at the end of a meeting with the provincial governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, said that the idea is to bring good winds, proposals for joint work and guidance to this very important group of artisanal fishermen.<\/p>\n

He also referred that the ministry has a part of the marine resources, which has a more sustainable organization, with instruments approved for the Sea Strategy for Angola and the Marine Coastal Planning Plan, which cover the municipalities bathed by the coast (chaos de Cabinda and Cacongo), taking into account the guiding and technical document for the Blue Economy.<\/p>\n

\u0301 \u0301It is based on this new perspective and on a view that the sea can provide, we think that we are going to build a path to Cabinda, where we can correct some approaches that are made, in the case of fishermen, who approach the oil platforms”, he asserted .<\/p>\n

Therefore, he stressed that this approach, in terms of sustainable management of the ecosystem, is the responsibility of fishermen for the safety of their own lives and national assets.<\/p>\n

Carmen Neto said that she has been addressing the matter with the national inspection services, with oil associations and the Multisectoral Commission for Coast Protection and the Ministry of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas for joint work with Cabinda fishermen.<\/p>\n
