Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The creation of the Jonas Malheiro Savimbi foundation dominated the meeting between the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, and the former leader of UNITA, Isai\u0301as Samakuva.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press this Thursday, at the end of the hearing, Isai\u0301as Samakuva stated that Jonas Savimbi’s family is creating the foundation and UNITA is interested in the project.<\/p>\n

He informed that he was chosen to lead the process, which started a year ago, depending only on the legislation.<\/p>\n

Jonas Savimbi was the founding leader of UNITA in 1966. He died in 2002.<\/p>\n

UNITA currently has 90 deputies in the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

Isai\u0301as Samakuva also informed that he had evaluated with the President of the Republic the socio-economic situation of the country.<\/p>\n

“As a 77-year-old citizen and at the service of the country, we had to present the difficulties resulting from the country’s situation”, he said.<\/p>\n
