Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Bengo’s provincial deputy governor for the Political, Social and Economic Sector, Jose\u0301 Francisco Bartolomeu Pedro, called<\/b>
\nThursday, in Caxito, for the involvement of the various fringes of Angolan society in the fight against corruption.<\/b><\/p>\n

The appeal was made at the presentation of the National Strategy Project for the Prevention and Repression of Corruption (ENAPREC), which aims to collect contributions to enrich the referred proposal, under discussion in the country.<\/p>\n

For the improvement of the document, Jose\u0301 Pedro asked academics, public managers, religious and traditional entities, politicians, members of civil society and defense and security to present relevant ideas that aim to prevent and combat corruption.<\/p>\n

Speaking about the “repression measures”, the representative of the Attorney General’s Office (PGR) in Bengo, Ma\u0301rio Yu\u0301vula, said that all related bodies should work with the same purpose, creating the necessary conditions to facilitate the progress of the process.<\/p>\n

He referred that the fight against corruption should not be individualized, and should count on the participation of all institutions.<\/p>\n

The public prosecutor defended the need to create specialized rooms to judge cases of corruption.<\/p>\n

Repression, he said, is not the best path for public managers, with prevention being the ideal way to avoid corruption.<\/p>\n

According to Ma\u0301rio Yu\u0301vula, the education sector can contribute to raising students’ awareness of the fight against corruption.<\/p>\n

During the meeting, topics on \u201cprevention and detention measures\u201d were also addressed.<\/p>\n

The head of the inspection and social security section, Francisco Sambo, recommended that within the scope of the study and collection of contributions for ENAPREC, the campaign of consultation with rural communities be expanded.<\/p>\n

Professor Alcina Leroi defended the need for the State to adopt measures that guarantee the protection of people who denounce acts of corruption, to avoid reprisals or risk of death.<\/p>\n

The president of the residents’ committee of the youth social neighborhood, Joa\u0303o Sebastia\u0303o Mulanvo, said that the issue of the cost of living and meager wages could be linked to the promotion of corruption, which is why he suggests improving the living conditions of the population and the wage adjustment.<\/p>\n
