Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, reaffirmed Friday, in Malanje, that the construction works of the hydroelectric dam of Caculo-Cabac\u0327a, in the province of Cuanza Norte, could be concluded in 2026.<\/b><\/p>\n

After inaugurating the system for capturing, treating and distributing water in Quissol, in Malanje, the holder of the Executive Branch said that if the funding does not fail, the project could be completed on schedule.<\/p>\n

He underlined that Lau\u0301ca, from now on, is definitively completed and that all attention can be paid to the large hydroelectric plant of Caculo-Cabac\u0327a, which will be the largest in the country.<\/p>\n

With regard to the water supply system inaugurated, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o highlighted the project’s benefits for the population, which is now consuming better quality water and preventing illnesses, such as acute diarrhoea.<\/p>\n

According to the President, \u201cthe improvement of water supply is a right that belongs to the populations, because \u201ctreated water is health, it is life. There will be less diarrheal disease, so let’s save lives.”<\/p>\n

The water supply system is budgeted at 31 million 237 thousand and 861 US dollars, financed under the Chinese credit line and aims to reinforce the water supply to the city of Malanje.<\/p>\n

With its entry into operation, the city’s water supply capacity goes from 575 to 1,295 cubic meters\/hour, while the number of consumers rises from 55,000 to 395,000.<\/p>\n

Household calls rose from 10,500 to 22,000.<\/p>\n
