Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than 7,000 citizens, including Catholics, members of the Government, politicians, tourists and guests from Huambo province, were present today on the last day of the pilgrimage to Morro Tchimbango, in the municipality of Chinguar, Bie\u0301 province.<\/b><\/p>\n

Elapsed over three days, the pilgrimage ended with a solemn mass, witnessed by the governor of Bie\u0301, Pereira Alfredo, who reiterated, on the occasion, the deepening of the partnership with the churches, in particular the Catholic, in the social field, aiming to achieve the well-being of being of populations.<\/p>\n

The chancellor of the Curia of the Diocese of Bie\u0301, Father Tome\u0301 Chipilica, asked the pilgrims to fulfill their responsibilities and social actions, to help in solving various problems that afflict families.<\/p>\n

Pilgrimages to Morro Tchimbango, which resumed in 2022, after being suspended for two years, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, are traditional for the Catholic Church in this part of the country.<\/p>\n

Located five kilometers from Chinguar, in a section that can be done either on foot or by car, Tchimbango Hill is a Sanctuary founded on May 13, 1917.<\/p>\n

Considered the highest point in Bie\u0301, the place has a natural beauty, covered in fauna, with animals of various species.<\/p>\n

For this reason, the administrator of Morro Tchimbango, Joaquim Kapango, asked the Government to invest in this hill, to promote tourism, with a view to raising revenue for the State coffers.<\/p>\n

Joaquim Kapango said, therefore, the need for the authorities to find a partner for the purpose, so that the place is increasingly visited, not only by Bieno tourists, but also national and foreign ones.<\/p>\n

In Morro Tchimbango, in addition to the chapel, there is a public lighting and drinking water system, bathrooms, parking lots, an area for camping, a kitchen, a dining hall and other areas.<\/p>\n
