Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The situation of \u201cinsecurity in the Gulf of Guinea\u201d, mainly maritime, took the Minister of Foreign Affairs to the premises of the Executive Secretariat of the Gulf of Guinea Commission, based in Angola, on a courtesy visit that served to address also the Abuja Summit, scheduled for April.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the executive secretary of the Gulf of Guinea Commission in Luanda, Florentina Adenike Ukonga, cited in a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to which Jornal de Angola had access, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio’s visit “represents an important and encourages the activities of that institution\u201d.<\/p>\n

The opportunity was taken for Florentina Adenike Ukonga to exchange views on the forthcoming Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Gulf of Guinea Commission, likely to be held in April in Abuja (Nigeria).<\/p>\n

The Gulf of Guinea Commission was born from the treaty signed in Libreville, Republic of Gabon, on 3 July 2001, by Angola, Congo, Gabon, Nigeria and S\u00e3o Tom\u00e9 and Pr\u00edncipe, constituting a permanent institutional tool for cooperation between these riparian states. of the Gulf of Guinea with a view to defending their common interests and promoting peace and socio-economic development based on dialogue and consultation, based on the bonds of friendship, solidarity and fraternity that unite them.<\/p>\n
