Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola has economic potential and natural resources that may be of interest to businessmen in the United States of America (USA), with emphasis on the priority areas subject to cooperation, namely Agriculture, Health and Education.<\/b><\/p>\n

This information was provided on Friday by the Angolan ambassador to the United States, Joaquim do Esp\u00edrito Santo, during his visit to the city of Hampton.<\/p>\n

The Angolan diplomat, accompanied by the mayor of the city of Hampton, Donnie Tuck, visited the cemetery where the first black slaves of Angolan origin belonging to the Tucker family are buried.<\/p>\n

Joaquim do Esp\u00edrito Santo considered the visit to be a due tribute to their souls and an act of recognition of the common history that unites the two peoples.<\/p>\n

In addition to the visit to the cemetery, the ambassador and the delegation that accompanied him also visited the local museum and the Fort Monroe educational center where they learned about the project to build a memorial to honor the first slaves of Angolan origin to land in the USA, right off the coast of Hampton.<\/p>\n

In the meeting he had with the mayor, the ambassador emphasized the need to strengthen cooperation relations between Angola and the USA, referring that, taking into account the ancestral historical ties that unite the city of Hampton and the Angolan people, he would like to count on his special support.<\/p>\n

For his part, the mayor of Hampton, Donnie Tuck, expressed interest in getting to know the Angolan market better , considering the possibility of creating twinning with Angolan cities to strengthen cooperation ties, particularly with the province of Namibe, taking into account the similarity existing between the two cities.<\/p>\n
