Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The price of Brent oil, which serves as a benchmark for Angolan exports, for delivery in April today continued its strong upward trend, having reached US$99.01, 3.79 percent more than at the close of Monday.<\/b><\/p>\n

This rise, which reflects rising tensions in Ukraine, means oil is at its highest level since 2014.<\/p>\n

Black gold is rising on fears in markets that the crisis between Russia and Ukraine could disrupt oil supplies.<\/p>\n

Russia is the second largest exporter of oil after Saudi Arabia, but also the largest producer of natural gas.<\/p>\n

The crisis worsened after Russian President Vladimir Putin recognized the independence of the self-proclaimed breakaway republics of Donetsk and Luhansk in eastern Ukraine and ordered a military deployment to these territories, which provoked international rejection.<\/p>\n
