Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Leaders of trade union centrals in the province of Huambo defended, this Wednesday, the need to be represented in the National Assembly, for a more direct participation in the discussions and approval of laws aimed at public\/private workers.<\/b><\/p>\n

The fact was manifested by the members of the Union of Trade Unions (UNTA-CS) of Huambo during a meeting with the provincial secretary of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende.<\/p>\n

At the time, the trade unionists considered that the presence of a representative of the class in Parliament largely depends on the interest of the political parties.<\/p>\n

The president of UNTA-CS in Huambo, Adriano dos Santos, said that the presence of trade unionists in the National Assembly has the sole purpose of defending workers’ rights, with their participation in consultation sessions and approval of the General Labor Law, so that this may, in fact, reflect on the protection and dignity of employees.<\/p>\n

He defended the conjunction of efforts among the country’s trade union centrals, for the realization of this desideratum, as it constitutes one of the main concerns of workers<\/p>\n

In turn, the secretary of SINPROF in the province of Huambo, Abel Maravilhoso, pointed out the need to build more classrooms and continuous training of teachers, as essential assumptions for improving the quality of teaching\/learning.<\/p>\n

Addressing the union members, the PRS secretary in Huambo, Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende, defended the urgent resolution of the concerns expressed by the unions of education, health, transport, agriculture and fisheries workers, as well as the private sector, the latter linked to the disrespect of the General Labor Law in relation to working hours and the national minimum wage.<\/p>\n

The PRS (Partido de Renovac\u0327a\u0303o Social) is a political party in Angola, represented in the National Assembly, founded in 1990.<\/p>\n

In the last general elections, held on August 24, 2022, won by the MPLA, he obtained, in the constituency of Huambo province, four thousand 704 votes, equivalent to 0.86 percent, without the possibility of electing any deputy at the local level .<\/p>\n

The MPLA was the most voted party in the region, with 308,731 votes, electing three deputies out of a possible five.<\/p>\n
