Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The school of the 1st cycle of Secondary Education n\u00b0 three thousand 124, Ambro\u0301sio Lukoki, and the Sports Club Escola Formigas do Cazenga benefited, this Friday, from educational and sports material, an offer by the Angolan basketball player to evolve in the team of South Florida Bulls of the NCAA division I, from the United States of America, Selton Miguel.<\/b><\/p>\n

In addition to sports material, the donation comprises pencil sharpeners, notebooks, backpacks, reams of paper, training equipment and hygiene material, delivered as part of its project to develop basketball in communities, at the age level, entitled ” Camp Selton”.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the director of the Ambro\u0301sio Lukoki School, Manuela Barata, expressed her satisfaction with the goods on offer, saying that they serve as an added value for the institution and the children who always need them.<\/p>\n

He added that they continue with the preventive measures against Covid-19 and the means of hygiene are always important to maintain measures.<\/p>\n

For his part, the president of the Formigas do Cazenga School, Nguabi Salvador, considers that the gesture has a very great symbolism, mainly because it is the first time that someone offers didactic material for the athletes.<\/p>\n

He considered that Selton Miguel’s visit could have a big impact on the lives of all children and young people who train at the school, with the ambition of becoming professional players in the future.<\/p>\n

In terms of sports, the president hopes that Selton Miguel will be able to reach the biggest basketball league in the world (NBA) and be available to participate in the Asian World Cup, if he is one of the national team’s options.<\/p>\n

On the part of the Administration of Cazenga, its manager, Toma\u0301s Bica Mumbundo, said that the presence of the basketball player will encourage the youngsters to practice sports, due to the fact that the municipality is also an area of \u200b\u200bsport and culture.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the country is a reference in the sport in Africa and the world, with Selton Miguel having the ambition to play in the North American league, he should serve as an example for young people undergoing training at the Formigas do Cazenga School.<\/p>\n

The basketball player, Selton Miguel, was available to sponsor the little ants whenever he is in the country, so that other young people can achieve their goals.<\/p>\n

He also explained that the process for choosing access to the NBA is long, but with work and diligence it is possible.<\/p>\n

In addition to these actions, the basketball player gave a lecture on the theme, “The impact of sport on the prevention of juvenile delinquency”.<\/p>\n

The year 2023 marks the first action of the philanthropic project “Camp Selton” in Angola, a non-profit organization aimed at young people at risk.<\/p>\n
