Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The \u201cComplete Poetic Work of Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto\u201d, a collection of classic poems written by the Founder of the Angolan Nation, was presented this Thursday in Huambo, with the aim of immortalizing the author’s deeds.<\/b><\/p>\n

This is a collection that brings together, in the same book, the works “Sagrada Esperanc\u0327a”, “Renu\u0301ncia Impossi\u0301vel” and “Amanhecer”, in an initiative of the Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto and Sagrada Esperanc\u0327a foundations.<\/p>\n

With 3,000 copies available to readers in Huambo province, the collection, which has 171 pages, is being sold at a price of 3,500 Kwanzas.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the advisor to the Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto Foundation, Carlos Torres, recalled that the first President of Angola was the main driver of Angolan culture, by placing his poetic works at the service of the revolution, denouncing, in his verses, violence and humiliating colonial slavery, hence the title of \u201cGreater Poet\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added that the poetry of Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto added color to the process of struggle for the self-determination of African peoples, the fight against obscurantism, mobilization of desires and armies revolting against the shackles of colonization.<\/p>\n

For this reason, he said, it is important that Neto’s poems are objects of study and obligatory reading for the new generation.<\/p>\n

In turn, the head of the Cultural Action department in Huambo province, Pascoal Pedro Nhanga, said that the gains achieved during the 21 years of peace in Angola were sown by the teachings of Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n

In the end, the delegate of the Brigada Jovem de Literatura de Angola, Afonso Cachequele Lenguessa, said that the work of the \u201cPoeta Maior\u201d reflects the aspirations of the Angolan people since the struggle for national independence until the present date.<\/p>\n

For greater dissemination, the \u201cComplete Poetic Work Agostinho Neto\u201d, was translated into the national languages \u200b\u200bKikongo, Umbundu, Kimbundu and Cockwe, as well as into English, French, Mandarin, Spanish, Indian and Korean.<\/p>\n
