Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angolan writer Manuel Rui Monteiro presents, last Tuesday, at the Union of Angolan Writers, his most recent novel, entitled “A Ma\u0303e”.<\/b><\/p>\n

The book, with the seal of Editora Kacimbo, shows the “exceptional narrative dexterity” of the author, and follows his usual narrative line, marked by satire, humor and a keen vision of society.<\/p>\n

According to a note from the publisher, the work, with 184 pages, highlights, among other aspects, the importance of the family, the effects of wars and the solutions that sometimes involve love.<\/p>\n

Manuel Rui Monteiro occupies a prominent position in the Angolan literary panorama, and his contribution to the cultural heritage is incalculable, with an impact that goes beyond writing.<\/p>\n

The author held various political positions, including Minister of Information, in the Transitional Government, he was also a university professor and rector of the University of Huambo.<\/p>\n

The author is a founding member of the Union of Angolan Artists and Composers, the Union of Angolan Writers and the Angolan Society of Authors.<\/p>\n

His indelible mark on the country’s literary and cultural heritage is demonstrated by being the author of the lyrics of the national anthem, “Angola Avante”, following the proclamation of the country’s independence, on November 11, 1975.<\/p>\n

Throughout his career, he published several acclaimed works with national and international recognition. Notable collections of his poetry include “Poesia Sem Noti\u0301cias”, “Quem me de ser Onda” and the innovative “11 Poems in November” series.<\/p>\n

There are novels and short stories, such as “Yes Comrade!” and “Memo\u0301ria de Mar”, which are unavoidable for Angolan literature.<\/p>\n

Kacimbo Publisher<\/p>\n

Founded in 2020, Editora Kacimbo has established itself as a key player in the current literary movement, dedicated to the promotion of Angolan literature.<\/p>\n

With more than 20 books, covering poetry, romance, academic literature and children’s books, Kacimbo strives to contribute to the promotion, dissemination and literary enrichment of Angola.<\/p>\n
