Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>With more than 3,500 visitors received, the recently ended 5th edition of the Agricultural Fair, in Benguela province, generated more than 150 jobs, both direct and indirect.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to Victor Panzo, spokesman for the event, held between the 19th and 21st of this month, around 70 are direct jobs and 90 are indirect, temporary jobs, in various sectors, such as service providers in catering, stevedoring (loading and unloading of goods) and transport.<\/p>\n

With regard to direct jobs, the official made it known that the young people had formalized contracts with some farms and service providers, guaranteeing their insertion in the job market, especially in the agricultural and catering sector.<\/p>\n

He also added that some of these young people got their jobs for the first time, which demonstrates the importance of holding the fair, a kind of “breath of fresh air” for those who were unemployed.<\/p>\n

\u201cMany of these young people were unemployed and, eventually, at risk of engaging in anti-social actions\u201d, he stressed, considering that, within the scope of their social responsibility, farmers and cooperatives created opportunities that will change the lives of young people.<\/p>\n

Professional internships<\/p>\n

Victor Panzo also pointed out that some students from the Instituto Me\u0301dio Agra\u0301rio Joaquim Capango, on the outskirts of the city of Benguela, had professional internships for three days, in order to combine theory with practice, under the supervision of engineer Fernando Assis.<\/p>\n

In this regard, he praises the unprecedented success of this edition of the Benguela Agricultural Fair, which had great visibility and had a direct impact on the lives of communities living close to the Ombaka Stadium, where some of the young beneficiaries left.<\/p>\n

In addition, in the same premises of the Cooperative of the Benguela Livestock Breeders (CCGB), adjacent to the National Stadium of Ombaka, the 8th edition of the Mercada\u0303o of the agricultural producer, fishery and industry was held simultaneously.<\/p>\n

According to the aforementioned spokesperson, together, the Agricultural Fair and Mercada\u0303o transacted around 400 million kwanzas in business, due to the purchase of machinery and various agricultural products, so the results are encouraging.<\/p>\n

With the \u201cstrategic objectives\u201d fulfilled, Victor Panzo guarantees that the success was such that the CCGB plans to hold a similar fair again for the 10th, 11th and 12th of November this year, precisely in the same space.<\/p>\n

To this end, the cattle auction was decisive, which allowed Benguela breeders a total income of 75 million and 513 thousand kwanzas, of which 70 million and 33 thousand kwanzas resulted from the sale of cattle, while another five million and 448 thousand kwanzas from pork , goat and horse, including poultry.<\/p>\n

In addition to cattle from traditional breeders, the source highlights the auction of different breeds, such as Simmentaller, Nelore, Brahman mix, Holsten, Bonsmara, Nelore mix, Guzerat, Mix, Red Brahman, Dutch, Gironde,.<\/p>\n

Innovative solutions<\/p>\n

In the exhibition area of \u200b\u200bthe fair, the public’s attention was centered on the motor cultivators.<\/p>\n

Similar to a tractor, but smaller, practical and accessible, these innovative pieces of equipment are indicated for small properties, between one and five hectares, according to Edna Monteiro, from the company Royal Empire.<\/p>\n

As they are \u201csmall tractors\u201d, Edna Monteiro emphasizes that they are more recommended for small producers, as they manage to work the land with much more efficiency and agility.<\/p>\n

In this context, he pointed out that the request from farmers interested in acquiring the power tillers was very good and, therefore, there were good deals.<\/p>\n

Another highlight at the fair was a pumping system with a capacity of one to five kilowatts, presented by Sistec Energia and whose acceptance was good, as Nelson Duarte admits, visibly satisfied with the business done.<\/p>\n
