Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), the National Concessionaire, says it continues to work on improving the business environment, to maintain current multinationals and attract new players to the national market.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors (PCA) of ANPG, Paulino Jer\u00f3nimo, the improvement of the business environment is not only to allow existing contractor groups to invest more, but recognizes that their investment is what makes national production remain above one million and 100 thousand barrels\/day.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf it weren’t for the investment by these oil companies, our production would be well below this number\u201d, admitted the manager of the National Concessionaire, in statements to the press, on the sidelines of signing new contracts with contractors.<\/p>\n

ANPG hopes that operators will continue to invest, while attracting new investors, within the framework of the \u201cgood business environment\u201d policies.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of the good business environment, new companies appear that will operate for the first time in the national market, namely the American multinationals Intank Group, Brite`s Oil and Gas and the Canadian company MTI Energy, which enter into consortia to work in blocks of the Onshore Kwanza Basin.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe hope to continue attracting more companies. We are showing that the market is good, attractive and very competitive\u201d, considered Paulino Jer\u00f3nimo.<\/p>\n

New bids on sight<\/p>\n

The oil sector continues to be strategic for the State, as 95% of Angola’s exports are still crude oil.<\/p>\n

From the bidding strategy and new concessions approved in 2019, 55 new concessions are expected to be licensed, of which 25 have already been awarded in this period.<\/p>\n

Similar to what was done in 2020, the period when onshore tenders were launched, ANPG is preparing a new \u201cpackage\u201d of 12 blocks.<\/p>\n

According to the PCA of the ANPG, Paulino Jer\u00f3nimo, for this year there are onshore bids for eight (8) blocks in the Onshore Basin of the kwanza, close to Luanda, Cuanza Norte and Cuanza Sul, and four (4) in the Congo Onshore Basin, where the largest national private oil company, Somoil, operates.<\/p>\n

The terms of reference for the bids will be launched on the 1st of September this year, with the pre-announcement of this international tender having already been carried out.<\/p>\n

In these tenders for 2023, the oil blocks in the Onshore Basin of the Lower Congo (CON 2, CON 3, CON 7 and CON 8) and the other eight in the Onshore Kwanza Basin (KON 1, KON 3, KON 7) will be put up for tender. , KON 10, KON 13, KON 14, KON 15 and KON 19).<\/p>\n

The pre-announcement of the ANPG defines that the deadline for the submission of proposals will be until November 4th of this year, 2023.<\/p>\n

The 2023 tender aims to relaunch the exploration and production of hydrocarbons in onshore areas, reassess the existing oil potential in the said basins, mitigate the decline in production, through the increase in exploration activity and the discovery of new resources and encourage the participation of small and medium-sized companies oil companies, as well as promoting technological innovation and good governance practices.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the sector seeks, in the medium and long term, to develop the marginal fields, carry out explorations in developing areas, grant incentives for mature fields, so that the companies that operate in them work more.<\/p>\n
