Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Mozambican poet Li\u0301dia Mathe launched her new book entitled “A\u0301frica, Wagon de Ouro”, the sixth fruit of her literary crop, in Benguela.<\/p>\n

The work, published by Bela Arte, in Maputo, was presented to the public during a session for the sale and signing of autographs, coincidentally in Benguela, the same city where Li\u0301dia Mathe had launched her first book \u201cOutra parte de mim\u201d, in 2016.<\/p>\n

With a circulation of 1,500 copies, the book \u201cA\u0301frica, Wagon de Ouro\u201d contains 95 pages and 85 poems that make us feel indignant and reflect on the need to awaken the African continent, which, despite its rich potential, is still plagued by poverty.<\/p>\n

\u201cAct\u201d, \u201cAfrica\u201d, \u201cWe are Africa\u201d, \u201cFear\u201d, \u201cPath\u201d, \u201cContinues\u201d, \u201cPlace, Courage\u201d, \u201cTeacher\u201d \u201cFree\u201d, \u201cPast\u201d, \u201cCradle of Humanity\u201d, \u201cHarvest \u201d, \u201cEtapas\u201d, \u201cAlto Mar\u201d, \u201cNervos\u201d, \u201cQuiet\u201d, \u201cImagina\u201d, \u201cTransformation\u201d and \u201cBrilha\u201d are some of the poems in this book.<\/p>\n

The writer and poet Li\u0301dia Mathe prefers to look at her work as if it were an object of discussion, namely around the true sense of belonging to the land.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to discuss other wills that come with our generation\u201d, he said, emphasizing that, perhaps, it is necessary to free ourselves from the fear and influence that keeps Africa increasingly dependent on other realities.<\/p>\n

This influence, which the writer Li\u0301dia Mathe classifies as a \u201cnegotiated shame\u201d, pointing to donations all over the continent and, therefore, the book appears as an exercise in dialogue for Africa in the wake of decades of delay.<\/p>\n

In his view, instead of producers, Africans are consumers and, as a result, many people on the continent live in begging, a sad image that, as he said, needs to be changed by looking at the existing potential.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis… golden wagon is a sign that everyone wants to leave at the green light, so that we can be the hope of Africa\u201d, he guarantees, justifying that the choice of the 25th of May for the launch of the work was not a mere coincidence, as it aimed to dialogue with readers on how to wake up the continent.<\/p>\n

\u201cI believe that even today we are much more than what we are told\u201d, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

On the launch of the book in Benguela, to the detriment of Maputo, her homeland, Li\u0301dia Mathe \u201cboasts\u201d of the bonds of friendship with the Angolan poets, who were responsible for the success of her first work \u201cOutra parte de mim\u201d, also presented in this city, in 2026.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, Li\u0301dia Mathe is planning a session for the sale and signing of her recent book, in Luanda, before heading to Maputo, on a tour that will also visit Cape Verde.<\/p>\n

Using the pseudonyms Bacela and Muhaxi, Li\u0301dia Mathe, a Mozambican poet who defines herself as an authentic African voice, was born in Maputo in 1988. She is a writer, accountant, journalist and broadcaster.<\/p>\n

A founding member of the Associac\u0327a\u0303o da Bela Arte, Li\u0301dia Mathe, one of the most renowned names in Mozambican poetry in recent years, has also published \u201cDetra\u0301s do Sol\u201d, \u201cRotas de alma\u201d, \u201cFind yourself in Mozambique\u201d and \u201cEduardo Mondlane in your eyes”.<\/p>\n
