Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Deputy Ombudsman, Aguinaldo Crist\u00f3v\u00e3o, defended, yesterday, in Luena, Moxico, greater dissemination of the role of the institution due to the fact that many citizens are unaware of its real objective.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking on the sidelines of a lecture on “bringing together the services of the Ombudsman ‘s Office among citizens”, he defended the guarantee of rights and freedom as indispensable prerequisites to avoid barriers between the ombudsman and the citizen in the presentation of complaints.<\/p>\n

Aguinaldo Crist\u00f3v\u00e3o said that the population should announce all issues harmful to well-being in order for the Ombudsman to seek to solve this problem as a mediator between the citizen and the Justice. “We have a responsibility to guarantee the rights and duties of the citizen. The citizen must resort to the justice services whenever he feels that his rights are being called into question”, he observed.<\/p>\n

He stated that the Ombudsman’s Office is negotiating with the Government of Moxico, to install provincial services to meet the needs of citizens in relations with the Public Administration.<\/p>\n

“Significant steps are being taken in this direction and within the scope of cooperation with the provincial government, we create the conditions for this to take place”, he said, considering that the aim of these services is to strengthen the relationship between the institutions, provide the interaction between the various entities, for a greater understanding of the function and mandate of justice.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Ombudsman acknowledged that, in some cases, the citizen is weakened when he does not find the adequate understanding of the Public Administration bodies.<\/p>\n

According to Aguinaldo Crist\u00f3v\u00e3o, the provider has the specific competence to meet the needs of the citizen through a complaint and the latter, in turn, interacts with the various bodies through the duty of cooperation.<\/p>\n
