Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Representatives of various segments of civil society, in the province of Benguela, have already started to contribute to the enrichment of the \u201cAngola 2050 Long-Term Strategy\u201d, within the scope of the public consultation launched by the Executive.<\/b><\/p>\n

Shortly referred to as \u201cELP \u2013 Angola 2050\u201d, this document is based on five axes, namely (I) diversified and prosperous economy; (II) modern and competitive infrastructure; (III) valuing and enhancing human capital; (IV) resilient and sustainable ecosystem and (V) a fair nation with equal opportunities.<\/p>\n

Obtaining contributions from public and private actors, for the improvement of this document, which brings the global vision of an Angola that wants to be built by 2050, is the main objective of the public consultation sessions, which have already taken place in the provinces of Cabinda, Huambo and Bie\u0301, under the coordination of the Ministry of Economy and Planning.<\/p>\n

In the case of the province of Benguela, the opening of the public consultation on \u201cELP Angola \u2013 2050\u201d, which projects the development of the country over the next 27 years, brought together 184 participants on Tuesday representing higher education institutions, business and youth associations, non-governmental organizations and ecclesiastical entities.<\/p>\n

The act, held in the auditorium of the Socio-Pastoral Center Dom Armando Amaral dos Santos, was chaired by the Minister of Economy and Planning, Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o, in the company of the two provincial deputy governors of Benguela, namely Adilson Gonc\u0327alves and Li\u0301dia Amaro.<\/p>\n

When intervening, the Minister of Economy and Planning hinted that he had taken good note of the contributions made by Benguela society, especially in the area of \u200b\u200beducation and teaching at all levels for the training of staff that are up to the challenges of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn fact, we recognize the need to have a regionalization of curricula and it is something that we are going to enrich the document\u201d, said Minister Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o in response to the intervention of the president of the Higher Institute of Educational Sciences of Benguela, Maria Barbosa.<\/p>\n

It is in this context that the official considers it a priority to review the education system in Angola, not only from a quantitative point of view – including more children in education – but also qualitatively, including learning local languages.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere is some unevenness in the quality of education offered to our students from Cabinda to Cunene and from the sea to the east\u201d, admits the head of Economy and Planning.<\/p>\n

Faced with this scenario, he announced that the Government will work with the World Bank to correct weaknesses in the four main dimensions of the education system: primary education, quality of teachers, managers and school infrastructure.<\/p>\n

The minister also showed his agreement with the proposal for the construction of sports courts in schools and daycare centers in all municipalities in the country, as they are fundamental to solving the first dimension of the problem, that is, the quality of first-class students.<\/p>\n

On her turn, the vice-governor for the Political, Social and Economic sector, Li\u0301dia Amaro, referred that, within the framework of “ELP \u2013 Angola 2050”, it is intended to affirm the province as the second largest in the country in terms of logistics platform. and to develop the industry, through the internationalization of the Port of Lobito and the Benguela Railway (CFB).<\/p>\n
