Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Economy and Planning, Ma\u0301rio Caetano Joa\u0303o, said this Wednesday in Moc\u0327a\u0302medes, Namibe province, that the National Institute of Statistics (INE) has information available for carrying out the 2024 Population Census.<\/b><\/p>\n

This statement was given by the minister after the inauguration of the Provincial Services of INE, in Namibe, having stressed that, in the last ten years, this body has managed to carry out, \u201csuccessfully\u201d, several surveys that will allow planning and programming the tasks for the next Census .<\/p>\n

Over the last ten years, according to the official, several surveys and censuses have been carried out, such as the Agro-industrial and fisheries, companies and commercial establishments and others that provided important information for the next step (2024 Census).<\/p>\n

He stated that, Angola has about 33 million inhabitants, data that should be confirmed by the Census, to better rationalize public policies.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that we have the population census in 2024 does not mean that the Provincial Services of INE will not be part of the pilot project, but rather carry out a set of tasks for cartographic updating, precisely to understand the size of each statistical unit and better rationalize the resources to be used in the Census\u201d, he added.<\/p>\n

In Namibe, the minister also inaugurated the INAPEM building. The inauguration ceremonies of the two buildings were attended by members of the government, businessmen, traditional authorities and young small entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n
