Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Technicians from the National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA), who participated in the training on Tax and Customs Legislation in Angola, defended greater exchange between the institution and the General Tax Administration (AGT).<\/b><\/p>\n

Held from the 29th of May to the 1st of June in the municipality of Viana, in Luanda, the training aimed to reinforce the knowledge of 72 ANIESA employees, in an action promoted by the General Tax Administration.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the closing of the event, the senior technician and spokesperson for ANIESA, Ade\u0301rito Mendes, referred that the meeting was fruitful and demonstrated the need for the two entities to strengthen relations according to the specificity of their functions.<\/p>\n

According to Ade\u0301rito Mendes, ANIESA’s technicians are focused on inspection issues, while those from AGT are focused on tax issues, so this type of training should be more frequent in order to share experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cANIESA technicians are now better prepared to address issues such as double taxation of VAT, invoices in foreign languages \u200b\u200bor not certified by the AGT and non-payment of taxes\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

For his part, ANIESA inspector Anto\u0301nio Lourenc\u0327o considered that the training served to improve techniques to remedy situations that have been encountered in inspection actions and which are the responsibility of the AGT.<\/p>\n

Defending the continuity of this type of training, he said that it served to demystify issues such as non-presentation of invoices or incorrectly filled out forms, which are the responsibility of the AGT.<\/p>\n

The AGT Tax Study Center Technician, and training lecturer, Kid Edmundo, said that this meeting represents a starting point of what is intended from the ANIESA\/AGT relationship.<\/p>\n

\u201cANIESA’s inspection experience and AGT’s experience in charging are extremely important for the country and should be shared between the technicians of the two institutions\u201d, he reinforced.<\/p>\n

According to Kid Edmundo, the AGT’s mission is not only to collect taxes, but also to provide pedagogical assistance to economic agents, which can be counted on with the collaboration of ANIESA.<\/p>\n

For four days, ANIESA staff updated their knowledge on “The reform of the Angolan tax system”, “Tax legislation in Angola”, “Legal Regime of Invoices” and “Procedures on the application of Value Added Tax (VAT) in all variants” .<\/p>\n

ANIESA is the state entity dedicated to carrying out inspection activities on economic activities and food safety and is the result of the merger of inspection services, sectoral services for Industry, Commerce, Tourism, Environment, Transport, Health, Agriculture and Fisheries.<\/p>\n
