Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Members of the MPLA parliamentary group, who worked in Zaire province for five days, defended, on Friday, in Nzeto village, the urgent rehabilitation of communication routes between municipal and communal headquarters.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of the visit, Deputy Norberto dos Santos \u201cKwata Kanawa\u201d, said that the group he coordinates will present this and other concerns found during the radiography carried out in the six municipalities of the province to the Executive.<\/p>\n

In a first phase, he defended that deforestation, expansion and earthworks be carried out on secondary and tertiary roads, to facilitate the flow of agricultural products from the countryside to the cities of this region.<\/p>\n

He informed that, during the visits to the municipalities, they learned that large quantities of products from the countryside rot every year, due to the accentuated state of degradation of the access roads to the communes.<\/p>\n

\u201cFarmers lose enormous amounts of their production every year, especially citrus fruits. We will intercede with the Executive to change the current framework\u201d, he promised.<\/p>\n

Norberto dos Santos “Kwata Kanawa” also spoke of the resumption and completion, in the next few days, of some social projects included in the Integrated Plan for Intervention in Municipalities (PIIM) and which are paralyzed due to an alleged lack of money.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the deputy was satisfied with the pace of construction work on the future General Hospital of Zaire and the international airport of Mbanza Kongo, which, according to “Kwata Kanawa”, will contribute to the well-being of the region’s population.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he asked the local youth to invest more in academic and professional training and in promoting self-employment for a more active participation in the social and economic life of the province.<\/p>\n

Composed of six deputies, the parliamentary mission consulted the party’s militants in the six municipalities of the region, who, among other concerns, requested an increase in classrooms for the second cycle of secondary education, the expansion of the electricity distribution network and of drinking water in all municipalities.<\/p>\n

With an area of \u200b\u200b40 thousand and 130 square kilometres, the province of Zaire has a road network of 1,606 kilometres, made up mostly of dirt.<\/p>\n

Zaire is divided into six municipalities, 25 communes and 711 villages, with an estimated population of over 500,000 inhabitants.<\/p>\n
