Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The presence of Angola at the investiture of the President of Turkey, Recep Erdogan, “reflects the good level” of cooperation between the two countries, considered, in Ankara, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonc\u0327a.<\/b><\/p>\n

“Turkey is an important country for Angola, and, in recent years, it has sought greater rapprochement with African countries, striving for a more equitable relationship”, he said.<\/p>\n

According to Esmeralda Mendonc\u0327a, Angola, who was represented at the investiture ceremony by the Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a Costa, Turkey has also served as an alternation to the main models of cooperation between the countries of the North and South.<\/p>\n

President Recep Tayyip Erdogan (69 years old), newly re-elected for another five-year term, was sworn in on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The Angolan diplomat said that, in 2021, the volume of business between Angola and Turkey was around US$170 million.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Angola and Turkey have carried out important economic reforms, aimed at improving the business environment, which put the two countries in a privileged position for the relaunch of cooperation in various areas.<\/p>\n

Both countries marked a new impetus and deepening of cooperation with the exchange of visits between the respective Presidents, namely Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o and Recep Erdogan, which culminated in the signing of several agreements and memoranda of understanding in the most varied domains.<\/p>\n

On those occasions, the two Heads of State committed themselves to doubling the flow of trade in the coming years, aspiring to the goal of 500 million dollars a year, through mutually advantageous partnerships.<\/p>\n
