Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The national commander of the Rapid Intervention Police (PIR), chief commissioner Tito Munana, defended Sunday, in Huambo, the adoption of new techniques of tactical organization of the force, for a more effective and efficient action.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the official commissioner, who was speaking at the central act of the commemorations of the 31st anniversary of the foundation of the PIR, which yesterday were marked, with the achievement of peace, 21 years ago, and the strengthening of democracy in the country, this body of the National Police sees if forced to update its ways of acting, to face the diversities and circumstances of the time.<\/p>\n

He referred that the PIR is committed to the readjustment of the staff, with the training, in 2022, of 1,408 agents, while others are in progress.<\/p>\n

Likewise, he said, four new territorial units of the Rapid Intervention Police were created, three of which are under the command of women, in addition to promoting specialist courses in various areas and receiving, for the first time, unmanned aircraft. (drones).<\/p>\n

These actions, according to Chief Commissioner Tito Munana, are among the main achievements achieved in recent years, at a time when the PIR Command hopes for a greater rise in the levels of academic and technical-professional preparation of the forces, improvements working conditions and modernization of equipment.<\/p>\n

From the commanders, the commander asked for a greater sense of responsibility, mission and fighting spirit, to raise the corporation to the levels of one of the best forces in Africa and the World.<\/p>\n

Elapsed under the motto \u201cunder the motto \u201cWith training and ongoing formation \u2013 PIR! Ready to disperse disturbances and fight crime\u201d, event, which was attended by the governor of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, was marked by the demonstration of 11 PIR performance techniques, including the real shot of confidence, in addition to a media exposure.<\/p>\n

Created in 1992, on the occasion of Pope John Paul II’s visit to Angola, the PIR’s main mission is to prevent delinquency, maintain public order, fight disturbances and guarantee territorial integrity.<\/p>\n

The Rapid Intervention Police, represented throughout the country, has the Anti-Terrorism Units (UAT), Anti-Disturbances Units (UAD) and Armored Vehicles Units (UVB).<\/p>\n
