Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, highlighted, this Monday, the importance of the 13 agreements signed yesterday, in Luanda, between Angola and Portugal, considering the act as a reflection of the good level of relations between the two countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

As part of the 48-hour visit that the Prime Minister of Portugal, Anto\u0301nio da Costa, is making to Angola, the two governments signed yesterday in the fields of finance, health, staff training, fisheries, port sector and construction.<\/p>\n

At the joint press conference, at the end of the signing of the legal instruments, the Angolan President stated that the act also reflects the will of the rulers and peoples of both countries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe meaning that the Angolan authorities attach to the visit of the Head of the Portuguese Government demonstrates that Angola and Portugal are committed to building and consolidating an increasingly solid relationship\u201d, expressed Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

He reiterated that the two countries will continue to work, more and more, to reach a good level of cooperation relations.<\/p>\n

Angola’s mandate in the CPLP<\/p>\n

Regarding the balance of the Angolan presidency in the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP), the President of the Republic stated that it is up to the member countries to draw conclusions about what was done during Angola’s mandate.<\/p>\n

Angola assumed the rotating presidency of the CPLP in July 2021 and will hand over leadership of the organization to the Republic of Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe.<\/p>\n

At the Sa\u0303o Tome\u0301 and Pri\u0301ncipe Summit, he continued, all Member States will jointly assess Angola’s performance in the organisation’s rotating presidency.<\/p>\n

The Portuguese Prime Minister arrived in Angola this Monday for a 48-hour visit, at the invitation of the Angolan Government, as part of the reinforcement of bilateral cooperation relations.<\/p>\n
