Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Trade between the inhabitants of the municipal seat of Cuangar (Angola) and Nkurenkuru (Namibia), two towns separated by the Cubango River, resumed on Monday, two years after being suspended, in compliance with the measures to combat and prevention of Covid-19.<\/b><\/p>\n

The reopening ceremony took place at the facilities of the Fluvial Port, located on the Angola side, in the presence of the administrators of Cuangar (Angola), Ernesto Cativa, and of Nkurenkuru (Namibia), Phelep Tanga, members of the Defense and Security bodies, municipal directors and traditional authorities of the two countries.<\/p>\n

On site, the delegations reviewed the conditions created for the hygiene of users, which consists of washing hands with water and soap or gel alcohol, as well as the presence during normal working hours of a rapid response team, for testing. people, to avoid the entry or exit of unvaccinated elements.<\/p>\n

The two delegations also visited the facilities at the Nkurenkuru border post, considering the conditions created there to facilitate the testing of people against the new coronavirus positive.<\/p>\n

The municipal administrator of Cuangar, Ernesto Cativa, praised the strengthening of the ties of friendship between the two countries, adding that the reopening of the river border made the lives of the populations residing on the shore easier, taking into account trade.<\/p>\n

Along with Cuangar, the municipalities of Calai and Dirico have also reopened the river borders with the Republic of Namibia, a situation that has eased the social difficulties between the two peoples and will boost the collection of revenue for the coffers of the state and vice versa.<\/p>\n
