According to the president of Petro de Luanda, Toma\u0301s Faria, who was speaking at a press conference on the balance of the sports season, the infrastructure component is a constant concern.<\/p>\n

He added that, in the approaches he has maintained with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, reference is made to the issue of changing the format of sports infrastructures, with regard to their construction.<\/p>\n

For the first time, the head of the \u201ctricolor\u201d club spoke openly and clearly on the subject. \u201cToday, you can no longer build stadiums just thinking about football\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

The head of the oil sector said that the stadiums should have all the services around them. If this is not the case, we will continue to claim money for its maintenance, as it is State equipment, it has to come from the OGE.<\/p>\n

In 2022, the Ministry of Youth and Sports confirmed the letter of intent presented by the Sonangol Group, which requested the transfer and management of the aforementioned complex.<\/p>\n

Until then, the largest sports complex in the country, consisting of a stadium and three gymnastics pavilions, which housed various competitions, in the most different modalities.<\/p>\n

Located in the Urban District of Rangel, the property, with a capacity for 60,000 spectators, the stadium was banned more than a decade ago by the African Football Confederation (CAF), due to the degradation, mainly of some concrete slabs in the second ring.<\/p>\n

Inaugurated in 1972, still in the colonial era, the venue has only been used for occasional training sessions for some youth teams and teams that play in the “Girabola” National Football Championship and lower competitions.<\/p>\n

Re-inaugurated on December 10, 1981, on the occasion of the extinct Games of the Countries of Central Africa, the infrastructure has already undergone numerous works of improvement, but today the conditions do not offer security to the spectators.<\/p>\n
