Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The 200 kwanza banknotes are the most resistant to counterfeiting, due to the material (polymeter) used in their manufacture, said Tuesday in Mbanza Kongo, Zaire, the director of the northwest region of the National Bank of Angola ( BNA), Isaltina Pelinganga Silva.<\/b><\/p>\n

On the sidelines of a meeting on education and financial inclusion, the official said that since the entry into circulation (July 30, 2020) of the said banknotes, the BNA has registered only one attempt to forge a 200 kwanzas.<\/p>\n

The education and financial inclusion days have been running since Monday and are expected to conclude on the 15th of this month, and should extend to the municipalities of Soyo, Cuimba, Nzeto, Tomboco and No\u0301qui.<\/p>\n

He highlighted the measure of making banknotes in polymer, stressing that they appeared to oppose the actions of criminals who at all costs try to obtain easy profits and destabilize the national economy, with the introduction of counterfeit banknotes into the banking circuit.<\/p>\n

The conferences take place in partnership with the ministerial departments of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Social Action, Family and Gender Equality and commercial banks based in the region.<\/p>\n

They aim to promote education and financial inclusion actions through lectures, training multipliers in personal finance management, which, according to the source, have as their goal the access to banking services for 75 percent of the region’s population, estimated at more than 500 thousand population.<\/p>\n

The carrying out of awareness campaigns for opening bankita, simplified and conventional accounts, as well as the attribution of multicaixa cards, are included in the purposes of the conferences.<\/p>\n

Also part of the training cycle is the transmission of knowledge on the identification of banknotes and coins in circulation for the prevention of counterfeiting and clarification on the validity of all metal coins in circulation in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to make it very clear that the five Kwanza metallic coin, in circulation, is still valid throughout the national territory and in all transactions\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

Employees of the Provincial Office for Social Action, Family and Gender Equality, Youth and Sports, agents of commercial banking, business, greengrocers and entrepreneurs take part in the training.<\/p>\n
