Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The country will have installed, by 2027, more than 900 MW of solar capacity and more than 1000 MW of battery storage capacity, with the aim of benefiting at least 7 million people in eight provinces, he said, in Friday, the Minister of Energy and Water, Joa\u0303o Baptista Borges.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the minister, the selected provinces are Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Moxico, Malanje, Cunene, Hui\u0301la, Namibe and Bie\u0301, respectively.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Baptista Borges advanced, during the opening of the Forum on Energy Transition in Angola”, that the national energy transition process includes a broad reform in the regulatory and legal framework.<\/p>\n

This same process, he pointed out, aims to integrate policies that promote competitive prices and greater attractiveness for the private sector in the renewable energy market.<\/p>\n

The minister also highlighted the country’s position among the main oil producing nations in Africa, “having oil reserves estimated at 9 billion barrels and gas reserves estimated at 11 trillion cubic feet”.<\/p>\n

In the field of solar energy, the official highlighted that Angola’s geographical position provides the country with a potential for solar energy, with excellent intensity and regularity.<\/p>\n

The forum, promoted by Jornal Expansa\u0303o, aimed to point out ways, suggest policy measures and actions to guarantee the industrialization of the country.<\/p>\n
