Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The chairman of the National Group for Monitoring Middle East Parliaments, deputy Jorge Cruz, and the Israeli ambassador accredited to Angola, Shimon Solomon, expressed their interest in strengthening interparliamentary relations, during a meeting held in Luanda between the two individuals .<\/b><\/p>\n

On leaving, the diplomat said, on Friday, that he proposed the visit of Israeli deputies to Angola to identify possible areas of cooperation and exchange experiences, not only in the parliamentary domain, but also in other sectors of common interest.<\/p>\n

Shimon Solomon added that he was satisfied with the explanation of the functioning of the National Assembly, from the legislative production component to the organization and functioning of the parliamentary administration.<\/p>\n

“We think we can take this experience to Israel, in the sense of improving our legislative production”, he said, stressing that he also took the opportunity to congratulate Angola for reaching 38% of female representation in Parliament, which he considered “a milestone that few Parliaments in the world have\u201d.<\/p>\n

As for the Israeli-Angolan cooperation relations, the ambassador classified them as “excellent” and in “satisfactory” growth, in the political, economic and social domains: “Last year, we had a series of meetings with official Angolan delegations in Israel at the most high level, with a view to boosting cooperation with Angola in the productive sector\u201d.<\/p>\n

Shimon Solomon highlighted his country’s willingness to support the diversification of the national economy, stressing that the two Governments are already working to intensify Israeli investment in Angola and plans to sign new agreements to facilitate exchanges between businessmen from both countries.<\/p>\n
