Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial director of Health in Cuanza Sul, Felizardo Manuel, was arrested Monday, in the city of Sumbe, by the Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), on charges of embezzlement, abuse of power, public impropriety and prevarication.<\/b><\/p>\n

Felizardo Manuel was heard Tuesday by the guarantees judge Erineu \u00c2ngelo M\u00e1quina, who applied the coercive measure of pre-trial detention, according to R\u00e1dio Cuanza Sul.<\/p>\n

Urged to speak, the detainee’s lawyer, Joaquim Orlando, without recording an interview, confirmed the fact.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, jurist Sep\u00falveda Viagem, in making the legal framework in light of Angolan legislation, explained that, if the crimes are proven, Felizardo Manuel could serve a prison sentence of up to 10 years.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the provincial governor of Cuanza Sul, Job Capapinha, suspended the defendant from all activities of the local government, due to the fact that he was detained, in order to respond to the investigations of the process.<\/p>\n

This is the first registered case this year in Cuanza Sul involving a provincial director.<\/p>\n
