Joaquim do Esp\u00edrito Santo, was speaking during his participation in the lecture on “The essence of leadership: Black history under construction”, organized by the Rio Solano University, with the aim of reflecting on the role of African leaders in the present and in the past and during the process of slavery.<\/p>\n

“It is not possible to correct the past, but with the knowledge of the history of our ancestors it is possible to project the future and prevent such atrocities that marked the history of humanity in a very negative way from happening again”, he underlined.<\/p>\n

For the head of the diplomatic mission of Angola in the USA, the path is made by walking, for whom it is necessary to involve joint efforts on the basis of a spirit of inclusive leadership so that common well-being can be sought, respecting differences. where they can be.<\/p>\n

He added that tact is needed to lead tribes with different habits and customs while incorporating fragments of the Western vision and concepts of good governance, namely human rights, social inclusion, security, human development and others, which are equally valid and recognized. by African leaders as fundamental to the evolution of a state.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that unfortunately the narrative he makes of African leaders is of being authoritarian, so he appealed to the participants to invert it, getting to know better the values \u200b\u200bof African traditions and their leaders.<\/p>\n

Joaquim do Esp\u00edrito Santo stressed that, as in the past, referring to Queen Nzinga Mbandi, Africa has many examples of leaders who with their ability achieved great feats for their people, but who for unknown reasons are not mentioned.<\/p>\n
