Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>A total of 1,79 court cases have been filed, to date, by the Constitutional Court, with 1,12 having ended (about 94%) and 67 (about 6%) being processed, it was learned this Friday fair in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

The data were advanced by the presiding judge of the TC, Laurinda Cardoso, when speaking at the magna conference in the context of the 15 years of this body, having said that, of the cases ended, 824 were decided by Judgments and 188 by order.<\/p>\n

The magistrate made a brief approach to the court, since its creation in 2008, structured in three key moments, namely linked to its institutionalization and functioning, quantitative and qualitative changes and the need to consolidate this body as a true court of human rights .<\/p>\n

He highlighted, among others, the quantitative and qualitative increase in the staff of technical and administrative support and made it known that, until 2011, extraordinary appeals of unconstitutionality filled 57.8% of the procedural demand, while the processes related to parties politicians were in the order of 31.5%.<\/p>\n

According to Laurinda Cardoso, the court has seen, since 2012, an exponential growth in procedural demand, which has been accompanied by the reinforcement and training of its human capital, with a view to ensuring quality work, rigorous and compatible with the expectations that are created at the time. around that organism.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the judges of the Constitutional Court exercised with pride, in 2010, their mission of preventive inspection of the constitutionality of the 2010 Constitution, for the purposes of promulgation, which he considered an important milestone, which contributed to increase the confidence of institutions, citizens and society in general in this Court.<\/p>\n

Such a contribution, he said, reinforced confidence in the so-called rule of law within the Democratic State of Law.<\/p>\n

Divided into two panels, the conference, which was opened by the President of the Republic, took place under the motto \u201cConstitutional Court – From institutionalization to its affirmation as guardian of the constitution\u201d and brought together, in addition to judicial magistrates and public prosecutors, members of the national academic class and politicians.<\/p>\n

The same was lectured by the judge counselor retired Luzia Sebastia\u0303o, the professors Rui Medeiros, Dalvan Costa and the lawyer Benja Satula.<\/p>\n

The meeting addressed the themes of the Constitutional Court: needs that determined its institutionalization, The axiological content of the appeal for amparo and its border with the extraordinary appeal of unconstitutionality, The extraordinary appeal of unconstitutionality within the scope of constitutionality control and The challenges of the constitutional court as human rights court.<\/p>\n

Previously, the President of the Republic inaugurated a photographic exhibition that portrays, in more than 200 photographs, some of the most important moments in the 15-year history of this institution, whose purpose is to guarantee and maintain respect for constitution and laws.<\/p>\n
