Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The acting provincial secretary of JMPLA, Anto\u0301nio da Costa Mateus, said Saturday, that the gradual withdrawal of the fuel subsidy will improve public spending on the social sector and provide communities with more schools and hospitals.<\/b><\/p>\n

For the politician, the measure to remove the subsidy, which initially affects the price of gasoline (160 to 300 kwanzas per litre), also aims to increase assistance to the most vulnerable populations, through programs such as Social Monetary Transfers (Kwenda).<\/p>\n

Speaking during a provincial conference on the Executive’s Vision Regarding the Partial Reduction of the Gasoline Price Subsidy, Anto\u0301nio da Costa Mateus said that fuel subsidies represented a “burden” on the General State Budget (OGE) and limited investments in actions aimed at improving the living conditions of the population.<\/p>\n

In this sense, he announced that JMPLA will, in the near future, develop actions to raise awareness of the population about the measure and its advantages, in order to avoid distortion of the Decree, which maintains gasoline subsidies for taxi drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers and others. operators of the agricultural and fishing sector, duly registered and licensed.<\/p>\n
