Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Represented by the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendon\u00e7a, and by Ambassador Nazar\u00e9 Nazar\u00e9 Salvador, director of the SADC National Committee, Angola participated, on Friday (25), in the reinforcement meeting with the United States of America, having been considered the report of the meeting of the Southern African Group of Ambassadors.<\/b><\/p>\n

This extraordinary, virtual meeting was convened to outline the Agenda, strengthen the relationship between SADC and the US, consider the Report of the Meeting of the Group of SADC Ambassadors with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, of the meeting held in Washington, DC, in addition to the creation of the SADC-US Forum.<\/p>\n

The Southern African Development Community (SADC) is an economic bloc formed by the countries of Southern Africa, namely Angola, South Africa, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kingdom of Eswatini, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n

The bloc’s objective is to promote the growth of the economies of African countries and, consequently, the development and improvement in the quality of life of its people. Other no less important objectives are the promotion of peace and stability in the region, sustainable development and the fight against HIV\/AIDS, in addition to the reaffirmation of African socio-cultural legacies.<\/p>\n
