Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary of the PRS in Huambo, Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende, this Tuesday called on the local government to speed up the conclusion of the electrification and drinking water supply projects on the outskirts of the city.<\/b><\/p>\n

The supporter was speaking to the press at the end of a visit to the Bele\u0301m neighbourhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, where the population is clamoring for the completion of the electrification project, the supply of drinking water and the resolution of land conflicts.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Anto\u0301nio Soliya Selende recalled that the Bele\u0301m neighborhood has an electrical substation connected to the Lau\u0301ca dam, in Malanje province, but that not all residents still have access to energy.<\/p>\n

According to the politician, despite being close to the substation, which does not require large amounts of electrical cables, the number of home connections carried out by the National Electricity Distribution Company (ENDE) still does not cover the majority.<\/p>\n

Therefore, he hopes for more speed from the Government of the province of Huambo in the conclusion of these projects.<\/p>\n

He also defended the need to resolve land disputes in the outskirts of the city of Huambo, especially in areas close to roads and with a lot of population, for the construction of social projects, but without due compensation for these.<\/p>\n

In the last general elections, held on August 24, 2022, won by the MPLA, the PRS did not elect any deputy for the constituency of Huambo province, obtaining 4,704 votes, equivalent to 0.86 percent, out of a total of 561,326 voters turned to the polls to exercise their right to citizenship.<\/p>\n
