Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angola has, as of this Tuesday, an honorary Consulate in the city of Vila Real, in Portugal.<\/b><\/p>\n

The honorary consulate, the first that the country opens in this region, will also cover the cities of Viseu, Braganc\u0327a and Guarda and will be headed by Portuguese businessman Anto\u0301nio Jose\u0301 Soares Coelho de Cunha.<\/p>\n

As Honorary Consul, Anto\u0301nio Jose\u0301 Soares Coelho de Cunha becomes a fundamental element in attracting Portuguese investment in that region and, also, the best-placed interlocutor to elucidate the entire Tra\u0301s-os-Montes region about the current Angolan reality.<\/p>\n

During the ceremony, Honorary Consul Anto\u0301nio Jose\u0301 Soares Coelho de Cunha said that his action will consist of seeking to increase the number of businessmen and investors, coming from and based in these districts who are prepared to invest in the Angolan economy, as well as to facilitate action of Angolan entrepreneurs and investors in these regions of Portugal.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe business environment in Angola is today much more transparent and a facilitator of investment and entrepreneurship, as has been recognized by the IMF, by international political leaders and by non-governmental organizations that address this issue\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

Simultaneously with the inauguration of the Honorary Consulate, the book \u201cFrom thought to gesture\u201d by Victor Monteiro was presented, which he said was a diplomatic and ethnographic vision of sport in the Angolan province of Cuanza Sul.<\/p>\n

Several Angolan and Portuguese personalities were present at the event, including the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola in Portugal, Maria de Jesus Ferreira, the director of the Institute of Angolan Communities Abroad and Consular Services, Ambassador Maria Filomena do Rosa\u0301rio Neto Anto\u0301nio, the Attorney General of the Republic, He\u0301lder Pitta-Gro\u0301z, the Governor of Moxico, Ernesto Muangala, the deputy Ca\u0302ndida Narciso, the Consul General of Angola in Lisbon, Vice\u0302ncia de Brito, among other diplomatic entities.<\/p>\n

On the Portuguese side, the mayors of Vila Real, Viseu, Braganc\u0327a and Guarda and the bishop of Vila Real, D. Anto\u0301nio de Azevedo, were present at the inauguration ceremony of the Honorary Consulate.<\/p>\n

The Honorary Consul, Anto\u0301nio Jose\u0301 Soares Coelho da Cunha is 63 years old. He dedicated most of his life to running successful companies, most of them in Angola, located in Lunda Sul, but with branches in all other provinces of the country.<\/p>\n

Owner of Sete Cunhas \u2013 Construtora e Obras Pu\u0301blicas, Anto\u0301nio Cunha is also the owner of Tintas Europa, in Portugal, and over twenty other companies in Angola.<\/p>\n

In 1979 he made the first of several prospecting trips to different countries. But, for linguistic reasons, he decided to settle in Angola.<\/p>\n

In 1985 it made its first business, starting to supply construction materials to Portuguese companies, such as Mota Engil, Teixeira Duarte and Soares da Costa. Since then, it’s been a whole story of enormous success, which catapulted him to be chosen as Honorary Consul in Vila Real, Viseu, Braganc\u0327a and Guarda.<\/p>\n
