Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The secretary for Social Policy of the MPLA Political Bureau, Maricel Kapama, showed on Saturday that she was satisfied with the food and health assistance given to 700 children who were in a difficult situation due to the drought in the commune of Jau, municipality of Chibia ( 45 kilometers south of the city of Lubango), Hu\u00edla province.<\/b><\/p>\n

Maricel Kapamba, who spent two days in Hu\u00edla province, as part of the political-solidarity action of the Secretariat of the Political Bureau of the MPLA Central Committee, said that it was gratifying to see that the children had recovered from severe malnutrition, after combined actions by the government and solidarity.<\/p>\n

He added that, due to the drought, many families had moved to the Jau communal seat. He recognized that the actions that have been developed in favor of communities affected by the drought are contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of families.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the Jau commune is also home to families from other parts of southern Angola, who, due to the drought that plagues the region, received, in addition to food and health assistance, land in riverside areas for cultivation. .<\/p>\n

He highlighted the importance of creating a community kitchen, where children have all their daily meals. “For better assistance, a community kitchen was built and a community garden was created to diversify the diet of families affected by drought.”<\/p>\n

He informed that the commune has an integrated project to improve the living conditions of children, which includes health care and education, with the construction of a school with seven classrooms, which is being concluded.<\/p>\n

Maricel Kapama asked the seminarians and teachers to give their contribution in the formation and instruction of the families that found shelter in the commune of Jau.<\/p>\n

He defended the continuous action of solidarity with the families affected by the drought. He appealed to everyone in good faith to, whenever possible, pass through the commune and give their human warmth. “Many times we don’t just need bread, but a visit, a friendly word and a warmth”.<\/p>\n
