Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>MPLA cadres and militants in the municipality of Andulo, Bie\u0301 province, were urged, this Thursday, for greater clarification to the population, in general, about the mitigation measures of the partial withdrawal of the gasoline subsidy.<\/b><\/p>\n

The exhortation came from the first secretary of the MPLA in Andulo, Celeste Elavoko David Adolfo, during a meeting with militants from the locality of Cariongo, who addressed, among other issues, the importance of implementing the Monetary Social Transfer Program (Kwenda) and the process for delivering gasoline subsidy cards to taxi and motorcycle taxi operators.<\/p>\n

The policy referred that the measures for the gradual reduction of the fuel subsidy, with emphasis on gasoline, will allow the Angolan Government to collect more revenue, which should be channeled towards the socio-economic well-being of families, through an increase in the supply of goods and services resulting from building more social infrastructure.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Celeste Adolfo defended the need for MPLA staff and militants to be increasingly united and contribute with ideas and positive actions, so that the Angolan Government quickly finds solutions to socio-economic problems.<\/p>\n

It was mentioned that the Angolan Government proceeded at the beginning of this month, the gradual withdrawal of fuel subsidies, which focused, in this first phase, on the price of gasoline, which went from 160 Kwanzas to KZ 300 a litre, exempting taxi operators, motorcycle taxi and artisanal fishing, recently licensed and registered, as well as urban public transport.<\/p>\n

This time, the authorities of the province of Bie\u0301 continue with the campaign for the licensing and registration of taxi operators and motorcycle taxi drivers, with the creation of 11 service points, three in the city of Cuito and one in each of the municipal seats , in addition to mobile brigades serving the communes.<\/p>\n

So far, more than four thousand 762 gasoline subsidy cards have been handed out to taxi operators and motorcycle taxi drivers in the province of Bie\u0301, which allows them to continue paying the price of 160 Kwanzas, against the 300 in force, with the aim of ensuring the normal movement of people and goods.<\/p>\n

To this end, the Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility office and the Association of Bikers and Transport Companies of Angola, \u201cAMOTRANG\u201d, promote awareness campaigns on the advantages of changing the gasoline price, as well as the importance of licensing taxi operators , motorcycle taxis and artisanal fishing vessels.<\/p>\n
