Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The National Authority for Economic Inspection and Food Safety (ANIESA) seized 1,200 boxes of expired livers, which were being sold in a shopping center in the area of \u200b\u200bSa\u0303o Pedro, on the outskirts of the city of Cabinda.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the coordinator of ANIESA in Cabinda, Ca\u0302ndida Santos, the confiscated product had expired since October 2022, and the owner of the targeted commercial space was held responsible in court.<\/p>\n

The seizure, he said, is part of ANIESA’s inspection work, launched at the beginning of the week, to combat the price increase of the main products in the basic basket, due to speculation on the part of commercial agents.<\/p>\n

Ca\u0302ndida Santos denied the allegations of economic operators that justify the increase in prices of the basic basket with the recent rise in the price of gasoline and the rise of the dollar, since many products of the basic basket were imported before the aforementioned changes.<\/p>\n

By the way, he referred that the provincial government of Cabinda, through ANIESA as an inspection body, launched the multisectoral inspection work to face the speculation of the prices of the basic basket, among which rice and oil.<\/p>\n

In Cabinda, the wholesale commercial network sharply raised prices for basic basket products, with a 20-kilogram bag of rice costing 12,000 to 15,000 kwanzas, against 7,000 to 8,000 previously, while a liter of oil went from 1,000 to 1,000 kwanzas 800 kwanzas.<\/p>\n
