Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Two hundred and 11 gasoline subsidy cards are yet to be issued, since the beginning of the process in Lunda Sul province (June 9), in local administrations, informed Wednesday, the provincial director of Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility, Cida\u0301lia Pires.<\/b><\/p>\n

The cards are personalized and non-transferable, and are intended for taxi drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers and owners of artisanal fishing vessels.<\/p>\n

They allow their users to benefit from a discount of 140 kwanzas, on the current price of 300 kwanzas per liter of gasoline.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press about the distribution of these, the official said that Lunda Sul had received 381 cards, of which 170 had been distributed to beneficiaries so far.<\/p>\n

According to the official, the province will no longer receive subsidized cards, which is why he foresees inconvenience to those taxi drivers and motorcycle taxi drivers who are only now licensing their means.<\/p>\n

Therefore, Cida\u0301lia Pires appealed to transport operators to go to municipal administrations in order to collect their cards.<\/p>\n

To counteract the weak participation, he said, the provincial transport office, in partnership with the administration and the Traffic and Traffic Police, is raising awareness among citizens about the importance of gasoline subsidy cards and the registration of vehicles and motorbikes.<\/p>\n

He appealed to motorcycle taxi drivers and taxi drivers to join the transport system to better organize, control and manage the offer, through registration and mass licensing.<\/p>\n

He informed that the province has so far licensed around 2,000 motorcycle taxi drivers and 11 taxi drivers.<\/p>\n

The public transport network in Lunda Sul consists of 18 buses, of which five are out of order and 63 are licensed taxi drivers.<\/p>\n
