Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The associations of Bikers and Transporters of Angola (AMOTRANG) and Taxi Drivers of Malanje (ATM) are working on the continuous awareness of their affiliates in order to avoid speculation in the price of the taxi ride, under the pretext of the increase in the price of gasoline.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was given Friday, by those responsible for the aforementioned associations on the sidelines of the 2nd edition of the audiovisual program of the Malanje government called \u201cSem Rodeios\u201d, which addressed the problem of licensing and registration of taxis and motorcycle taxis in the province.<\/p>\n

According to the provincial delegate of AMOTRANG, Heth Caculo, there is no reason to increase the price of the ride, taking into account that taxi drivers continue to benefit from subsidies, through subsidy cards.<\/p>\n

He advised associates to refrain from practices that contradict the decree, under penalty of incurring a crime.<\/p>\n

The president of the ATM, Manuel Lui\u0301s shares the same opinion and appealed to the licensed operators, who have not yet received the cards, to remain calm, clarifying that they will have them in their possession in due time, followed by the respective retroactives.<\/p>\n

In turn, the director of the Provincial Office for Transport, Traffic and Urban Mobility, Joa\u0303o de Assunc\u0327a\u0303o, explained that, so far, more than 3,000 means have been registered, including taxis and motorcycle taxis, of which 1,621 already have the respective grant cards.<\/p>\n

As part of the subsidy, collective taxis receive 168,000 kwanzas\/month, while light taxis (aka neighborhood tour) 124,320 kwanzas and motorcycle taxis 31,500 kwanzas\/month.<\/p>\n

He underlined the continuous work with the ATM, AMOTRANG and the Provincial Department of Traffic and Road Safety to ensure the registration of operators, in order to benefit from subsidies.<\/p>\n

With a fortnightly periodicity, the \u201cNo Rodeios\u201d program is an initiative of the Provincial Communication Office of the Provincial Government of Malanje and is embodied in the interaction between public managers, citizens and journalists on topics related to the political, economic and social situation of the province.<\/p>\n

The first edition held on the 9th of this month focused on the energy and water sectors.<\/p>\n
