Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The province of Bengo is taking good steps in terms of diversifying the country’s economy, said, at the Panguila market, the Secretary of State for Forestry, Andre\u0301 de Jesus Moda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press during the visit to the standers on display at the banana fair taking place in the province, the official stressed that Bengo’s agricultural experience could be taken to other provinces that also bet on agriculture.<\/p>\n

The official also said that the holding of agricultural fairs represents a factor of hope for the populations that are returning to their areas of origin, as the Bengo fair shows that there is a lot of agricultural production in the country.<\/p>\n

The fair that ends this Sunday, received approximately three thousand visitors daily.<\/p>\n

150 exhibitors from the agricultural, industrial, mining, banking and services sectors are taking part in the event.<\/p>\n

These include small farmers, associations, cooperatives from the six municipalities, in addition to the Nova Agroli\u0301der and Turiagro farms.<\/p>\n

The event has exhibited products such as banana, cassava, sweet potato, tomato, eggplant, sugar cane, oil palm, among others.<\/p>\n

The provincial government of Bengo controls 156 peasant associations and 187 cooperatives<\/p>\n

The banana fair was established in 2012, and aims to publicize the agricultural potential of the region.<\/p>\n
