Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Church, as a partner of the Angolan State, must continue to assume itself as society’s moral reserve and guarantor of harmony, in order to rid families of domestic violence and the avoidance of fatherhood.<\/b><\/p>\n

The appeal comes from Pastor Domingas Elsa Jorge de Oliveira Domingos, from the Evangelical Congregational Church in Angola (IECA) when she spoke at the celebration service for the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Congregation of the Redeemer in Huambo, marked on the 4th of this month, under the motto \u201c Redeemer – 30 years in the service of the Lord, His grace is sufficient for us\u201d.<\/p>\n

According to the religious, the churches need to rescue their real role, which consists of being the greatest moral reserve of society, with a view to better serving the Angolan Nation, mainly, in social moralization, to put an end to sexual abuse, non-provision of food, abandonment of the home, domestic and criminal violence.<\/p>\n

He indicated that the frequent inversion of moral values \u200b\u200brequires reflection by society as a whole and the involvement of churches, bearing in mind that, from a biblical point of view, there is an explanation for these evil actions and mechanisms for their resolution.<\/p>\n

He added that the church has an obligation to transform the minds of society, through the preaching of the word of God, which teaches citizens not to abuse or violate others.<\/p>\n

He said that the 30 years of existence of the Congregation of the Redeemer, in the Sa\u0303o Pedro neighborhood, on the outskirts of the city of Huambo, require more commitment from all members in favor of the development of the church and the well-being of the community.<\/p>\n

He added that Redentor members are involved in various social actions, such as donating blood and essential goods.<\/p>\n

Founded on June 4, 1993, Pastorado do Redentor has three thousand members, including children and adults.<\/p>\n

The IECA was founded on November 11, 1880, by missionaries from the American Board of Missions: Bagster, William Henry Sanders and Samuel Taylor Miller, and, in this province of the country, it has five local synods: Bailundo, Caa\u0301la, Dondi, Elende and Huambo.<\/p>\n

It was recognized by the Angolan Government on January 24, 1987, under Executive Decree no 9\/87 and, under Registration no 1, of October 24, 2005 of the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights.<\/p>\n
